A few days ago, we received a call from a kind woman about a donkey who had been abandoned and left to fend for himself.
Thanks to your support, we were able to act quickly and bring the donkey back to our sanctuary in Israel.
We hope you enjoy reading our update about our new rescue donkey, and join us in welcoming him to our herd.

News from Israel
Earlier this week, we received a call from a village near Be’er Sheva called Carmit. The caller told us about an abandoned donkey wandering alone.
We soon located the abandoned donkey and set to work
When we arrived, we found two donkeys – one white, who sadly ran off, and a smaller one, who stayed behind. That was our chance to help.
Moussa helps comfort Carmi on his arrival at the sanctuary
Thanks to your support, we were able to bring him back to the sanctuary, where he was placed in isolation to rest. He was understandably nervous and unsure – but at last, he was safe.
Dr Eliran provided a full check up
Since his arrival, he’s been seen by our vet, who gave him a full check-up and the all-clear. Dr Eliran confirmed Carmi – as we’ve called him, after the village where he was found – is about 6 years old.
Carmi has also been castrated – a vital step before he can be gently introduced to the rest of the herd and begin his new life among friends.
Carmi is about 6 years old
We’re also happy to share that Graham, the donkey we told you about a couple of weeks ago, is settling in well and making great progress.
We’ll continue to keep you updated on Carmi, Graham, and all our recent rescues in the coming months. Thank you so much for making this work possible – and for helping us give these donkeys the care and kindness they deserve.
Thank you ♥️♥️
It’s only with your help we are able to improve the lives of working donkeys, mules and horses in the West Bank, Gaza and Egypt. You’re also helping to fund our hospital in Nablus in the West Bank and care for our rescue donkeys in Arrana, as well as our donkeys at our sanctuary in Israel.
From the bottom of our hearts and on behalf of every donkey you help us to care for, thank you.
