Following the launch of our appeal for the donkeys and horses of Gaza back in May, we have been overwhelmed by the support you have provided.
Thanks to you and all our wonderful donors, we have been able to commit to funding a new team in Gaza to provide urgent first aid to animals, as well as paying for another shipment of food aid and veterinary treatments.
The situation in Gaza is desperate – both for the people and their animals – so this emergency and ongoing support will be vital to improve the lives of donkeys and horses, as well as support the local communities.
For that we can’t thank you enough.
News from Gaza
Our new team in Gaza continue to provide first aid to donkeys and horses – as well as other animals where needed. You can see below the harsh conditions they work under – setting up the mobile clinic by the roadside wherever they are needed.
As there is no fuel in Gaza, people are using carts pulled by donkeys and horses as a way of transporting food and water.
Many of the wounds our team are treating are caused by pulling heavy carts.
The team has also helped to provide care to other farm animals in need too.
Your support has helped us to buy emergency veterinary treatments as well as standard medicines such as dewormer.
Thank you!
It’s only with your help we are able to improve the lives of working donkeys, mules and horses in Egypt, the West Bank, and Gaza, as well as care for all the animals at our sanctuary in Israel, and our rescue centre and hospital over in the West Bank.
We hope this update has helped to show you how your donations are helping donkeys in desperate need – thank you for your support!
