As we approach the winter months, we’re busy making ready for the colder, wetter weather with work around the Sanctuary. For now the donkeys are enjoying the final sunny days of the autumn – here you can see Hope and Yalon in the paddock.
We’re pleased to say that some of the travel restrictions are now lifted, so Dr Rakan and Wael have been able to travel to more remote communities again. This has included Erin E’reik near Ramallah – a 124km drive from Nablus:
This included helping this poor mule who is around 30 years old and severely malnourished. The current owner rescued him and asked Dr Rakan to help. Dr Rakan gave the mule oral vitamins, rasped his teeth and gave him appetite stimulants. The owner was keen to hear advice from Dr Rakan on how to help this poor animal get on the road to recovery:
