Dr Rakan received another urgent call out this week – this time to treat a 5 month old foal with colic. Every hour that passes with colic is urgent – as it can be fatal if it’s left untreated. Here you can see Dr Rakan administering a drip and medication:
Dr Rakan believes the 5 month year old foal’s colic was caused by a sudden change in diet. He was also dehydrated. We’re very pleased to say that with Dr Rakan’s loving care his heart rate and respiratory rate were stabilised:
